Charity FAQ

What's the catch?

Really, no catch. You get great service, 20 years of mortgage expertise, honest advice, low rates and half of our total revenue is given to charity.

How much money is given to charity on each loan?

Half of our total revenue for each closed loan.
Typically that is 1% of the total loan amount.
If your loan amount is $300,000 then $3,000 will be given to fund something great.
(Due to mortgage regulations, there could be a few cases that may be higher or lower than 1%. 1/2 of total revenue will always be given to charity.)

What charities Receive the Money?

Our passions are helping kids, the poor and Christian ministries. There is a list of pre-selected charities to choose from. If there is a charity or non-profit that you are passionate about, talk to us before submitting a loan application for charity approval.

Who decides where the money is given?

We're glad you asked. You the borrower directs $500 to a charity you are passionate about.* We direct the remaining funds to one of our approved charities. (* See our Adding a Charity page.)

Is this a marketing strategy to get more business?

Yes and no. Our heart behind this is to give more money, fund great causes and make a difference in the world. However, in order to do that we need to generate increased business. Our hope is that people will be like minded, spread the word, Facebook it, Tweet it, retweet it, Instagram it, etc. More referrals means we can spend our time doing loans instead of chasing them. Our profit per loan is half of what we would normally make, which is just enough to remain profitable and give excellent service. Our motivation is not to make as much money as possible but to give away as much as possible. We need your help to do that.
